I'm a worrier. I worry and stress about things I don't have any control over, even though I know it's a waste of time and energy. Jack and I were driving today, and we were listening to Christmas music. "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" sung by Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan was playing on the radio. For some reason it just hit me listening to that song that I have so much to be thankful for, even though more of my time and energy is spent on silly things that don't matter rather than the simple things that really do.
I'm thankful for my healthy family. I love JP and Jack so much. They are my world and I miss them when we're apart. I'm also very grateful for my parents, as well as JP's wonderful family.
I'm grateful for a nice house to live in, and cars to drive.
As much as I complain about how many hours JP sometimes has to put in at work, I'm glad I have a husband that has an amazing work ethic, and frankly, I'm glad he has a job with the current state of the economy. I feel so blessed that we both had the opportunity to attend BYU and obtain great educations.
Grateful to have great friends. It's been a little hard on my since we moved from Lehi, but we have great friends there, and are making new friends in our new area.
I'm grateful to have a testimony of Jesus Christ. I know that He is my Savior, and because of His sacrifice I can be with my family forever. I can't imagine not having that assurance and hope. It's wonderful to live in this time and have the fulness of the gospel.
There are so many other things I'm grateful for, big and small. I love this time of year that causes us to reflect on those things that are most important. I think the big challenge for myself is to recognize that throughout the year.

I love this happy face
Jack is such a perpetually happy boy. He always has a sweet smile. I love when he comes over and gives me a spontaneous hug or kiss. He always seems to know when I need it. He has a tender heart and wants to make sure others are happy. I have no greater joy than to hear his laugh and to hear him say "Mommy" in his sweet voice.

What will we do?!?!
Our family has decided to put the TV in the basement for a month. It might not sound like a big deal...but it's the only TV, and our basement isn't finished. You've got it, we're not going to watch any TV at home until mid-December. JP is studying for the GMAT, and we figured that he'd get a lot more studying done at home if we eliminated some of the distractions.
Jack had a lot of fun helping. He moved the speakers for us. When he walked into the living room this morning, JP told me that he said "Oh No!" when he realized the TV was gone. I don't think it's completely set in that he won't have anymore "Melmo" for a month. I'm actually looking forward to this month. I think we'll get a lot done around the house, get some books read that are on my list, and best of all, I think we'll draw closer together as a family. I'll report back in a month (on this, hopefully I won't be such a slacker and wait a month to blog anything!)
