I'm a worrier. I worry and stress about things I don't have any control over, even though I know it's a waste of time and energy. Jack and I were driving today, and we were listening to Christmas music. "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" sung by Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan was playing on the radio. For some reason it just hit me listening to that song that I have so much to be thankful for, even though more of my time and energy is spent on silly things that don't matter rather than the simple things that really do.
I'm thankful for my healthy family. I love JP and Jack so much. They are my world and I miss them when we're apart. I'm also very grateful for my parents, as well as JP's wonderful family.
I'm grateful for a nice house to live in, and cars to drive.
As much as I complain about how many hours JP sometimes has to put in at work, I'm glad I have a husband that has an amazing work ethic, and frankly, I'm glad he has a job with the current state of the economy. I feel so blessed that we both had the opportunity to attend BYU and obtain great educations.
Grateful to have great friends. It's been a little hard on my since we moved from Lehi, but we have great friends there, and are making new friends in our new area.
I'm grateful to have a testimony of Jesus Christ. I know that He is my Savior, and because of His sacrifice I can be with my family forever. I can't imagine not having that assurance and hope. It's wonderful to live in this time and have the fulness of the gospel.
There are so many other things I'm grateful for, big and small. I love this time of year that causes us to reflect on those things that are most important. I think the big challenge for myself is to recognize that throughout the year.

Way to be positive Jess. There is plenty to be grateful for, especially at this time of year. So, I know you live close by me now but I haven't come to visit you yet because apparently I am a slacker friend. Maybe we can go Christmas shopping together sometime this next month. I'll call you, I promise, or you call me and we'll finally get together. See ya- Emily
It is hard to always concentrate on what to be thankful for instead of what to be worried about (I'm the same way - such a worrier), and I'm glad for the Holidays to help us remember to be grateful for our blessings too. :-)
That's a great list. No more worrying! It doesn't solve today's problems and only robs your strength to face tomorrow's!
