Fun with Daddy

Jack sure has become a Daddy's boy lately. Each morning he tries to find reasons to keep JP home from work. He'll want to play a game of "kick it" (soccer) or read books. Anything, really. It snowed on Tuesday, so JP had to clear off the driveway. Jack wanted to go out with him, so I bundled him up and he was quite the helper. He loved being outside with JP and having that time together in the morning. And Jack is loving his new snowboots. He wants to wear them all the time.

Zoo Lights

On Saturday we went to see the zoo lights. It had snowed most of the day, but it cleared
up for the evening. We had a lot of fun, and it wasn't too cold. The only animals that were awake were the monkeys, and Jack had fun looking at them.

For some reason Jack was really nervous whenever he'd look at JP in his beanie. I don't know why, because he doesn't have any issues when JP wears his baseball caps.

Un-decorating for Christmas

We put up our Christmas tree on December 1. Jack thought it was much more fun to take the ornaments off the tree rather than helping to put them on. I guess it really isn't reasonable to expect a toddler who LOVES playing with balls to leave the ornaments on the tree.

Also, notice that our TV still hasn't made it's way upstairs. It's been over a month since we moved it to the basement. We really aren't missing it, and we're debating whether or not we want to bring it back up. We really love the set up of our living room without it, so that's the main issue.

Family Pictures

My friend Kristen took some pictures for us the day after Thanksgiving. We wanted some for our Christmas card, and also because the last time we took any pictures as a family was last November. Jack sure has changed a lot in that time.
Kristen got some great candid shots, so I've posted a couple of my favorites. We went to the Temple Quarry at the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Jack loved throwing rocks into the river.

And again, playing with rocks :)
We had a hard time getting Jack to smile for any of our posed pictures, but as long as we were playing with him, he was a happy boy.

Thanksgiving 2008

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. We ate dinner at Grandma and Grandpa J's house. After eating, everyone went out to the backyard to play because it was a nice day. Jack had a ball playing football with all of the boys.

After spending some time at Grandma and Grandpa J's house, we went to my Uncle Mike and Aunt Marilyn's house for dessert. I think there was one pie per person. Wow, we sure ate a lot!

My Little Monkey

I sure have been a slacker in the blogging department. I realized I have a lot of cute pictures to post, and although I'm way behind, it'd be a crime not to post them :)

This first picture is Jack in his Halloween costume, catching a glimpse of himself for the first time. I've heard that a lot of kids hate wearing Halloween costumes, but Jack protested when we had to take off his costume so we could go to church.
On Halloween we went to Amy and Antoine's and had a great dinner with the family. Then we all went trick-or-treating. Jack couldn't figure out why he should only take one piece of candy from the bowl at each house when there were easily at least 100 pieces there. He kept trying to go back for seconds.
